Featured Speakers & Keynotes

 MJames 1
Mark A. James is an associate professor of applied linguistics and director of undergraduate studies in the English department at Arizona State University, where he teaches a variety of undergraduate and graduate courses. Dr. James’ research and teaching focus on issues related to curriculum, teaching, and learning in second language education, in particular learning transfer. His work has been published in a variety of journals (e.g., TESOL Quarterly, ELT Journal, Journal of English for Academic Purposes), and presented at numerous conferences (e.g., TESOL, AAAL).
Soccorro Herrera is a Professor at Kansas State University. She is known for her work on culturally-driven biographies and culturally responsive pedagogy. She has worked extensively in the U.S. and abroad to preparing teachers for working with diverse learners.  soccorroherrera
Andrea DeCapua web pic Andrea DeCapua, Ed.D., is a researcher, educator, and educational consultant. Her interests include second language acquisition, culture, and second language learners and the classroom. She specializes in teacher training for teachers working with struggling language learners and in developing intercultural awareness for classrooms in a global society.
