ACCESS for ELLs 2.0 is the annual assessment for English Language Learners (ELLs) in Florida. The assessment is produced by WIDA at the University of Wisconsin-Madison. The 2016-2017 academic year, is the second year that Florida will be giving this assessment as required by federal education policy (NCLB, 2001; ESSA 2016). WIDA is a consortium of 38 states and United States Territories which participate in giving the ACCESS 2.0 Assessment. Florida is unique in that it gives only the paper version to ELLs. This year there have been updates and improvements to the online training, the associated manuals have been streamlined and revised including the Accessibility and Accommodations Supplement, and there are scoring changes planned to correspond with the increased rigor of state content area standards. Below are several links that you might find helpful when planning to give the ACCESS 2.0 for ELLs Assessment.
